The Exodus is one of the foundational stories of our tradition. It is a desperate, sometimes violent account of the Israelites fighting for liberation from captivity in Egypt. The Exodus story is central to Latin American Liberation theology calling for the end to oppression and injustice.

During the last four Sundays of Tri-Church we will delve into the story of Exodus.

We will begin by setting the scene. How did the Israelites come to be in Egypt and what was their relationship with the Pharaoh? And who is this Moses sent down the river in a reed basket? (Exodus 1:15 - 2:10).

The second Sunday will examine the story of the burning bush and Yahweh's calling of Moses to free the Israelites from Bondage. (Exodus 3:1-15).

Then we will look at the escape from Egypt. (Exodus 14:21-30).

Finally, we will end in the wilderness where the Israelite people wandered for a generation. (Exodus 17:1-7).
