Bell Ringers Wanted!

The handbell choir is looking for new members.  I know it always looks like we have ‘enough’ ringers but we leave out many, many bells. That’s just one of the cool things about handbell music.  Composers write music so it can be rung by different number of people! If you have a few ringers, only a few bells are used. If you have a lot of ringers, lots of bells are used.

If you are over fourteen, can count to four, know the alphabet (only up to G), and know your left hand from your right hand (aka other left hand), consider joining the handbell choir. You don’t need to know how to read music. There are ways to mark music for you. A sense of rhythm and a sense of humour are definite assets.

We practice every Thursday night, 6:30-7:30 pm, from September to April. I ask you make a commitment to a session. That is, come to practice each week until the next time we ring in church.  We ring four times a year so it’s usually six to eight weeks per session. Some choir members ring all four times.  Some ring just once or twice depending on their schedule.

If you have any questions, please call the Wesley Office.
