Dear friends,

We find ourselves in a strange and uncertain time. Like many of you, I’m anxious for my family, for our community, and for the world. However, I’m comforted knowing that I’m part of this community of faith, full of people who will support and care for one another. I’m confident we’ll emerge from this an even stronger community.

Council has determined that Wesley will follow public health recommendations and refrain from gathering together until it becomes safe to do so. Until then, we will not be holding services or meetings, and the office will be closed to visitors.

However, this doesn’t mean that Wesley is shutting down. The church’s phone and email will be answered, and we are looking for ways to connect safely through personal phone calls, online worship, and in other ways. We have formed an emergency preparedness committee as the UCC suggested, and they will be doing what they can to make sure this community continues safe and intact.

In the meantime, let’s all resolve to live out our values. The world needs comfort, community, and justice as more than ever, and we can find ways to carry on that work. Please take this time to check in with one another through phone calls, email, and other safe forms of communication. As the situation changes, council and church staff will keep in contact with you. And remember: whether we meet in person or not, we remain a community.

May the peace of Christ be with you,

Dan Holbrow
